What our guests have to say...
Be amazed by the Big 5 as well as hippo, hyena, kudu, giraffe, zebra and so much more on several open vehicle game drives and a SANParks Sunset Drive (which gives you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals) on our Kruger Classic Safaris.
While there are never any guarantees, the more time you spend on a 4 Day Classic Kruger Park Safari, the better!
You also have the option of visiting Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels in the Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window on the Panorama Route, which provides some of the most magnificent scenery in the country (this option is only available for our Kruger safaris of 3 days or more)!
Delicious breakfasts and dinners give you ample time to get to know your fellow travelers and exchange stories.
In the evening, we sit around the campfire and listen to the sounds of the bush around us.
Transfers from and to the airport, as well as to the Kruger National Park, is in a 12-seater bus and game drives take place in open safari vehicles to offer the best possible game viewing experience.
Vehicles provide guests with the highest possible levels of safety and comfort.
Our Kruger Classic Safari accommodation is in en-suite chalets with beds, linen, towels and soap.
The chalets have a small fridge, air conditioning and mosquito proofing on the doors and windows.
Day 1: Gauteng to Kruger National Park
We leave on your Kruger Park safari from Johannesburg in the early morning to allow for various collection points.
The route to your Kruger safari takes us through the Highveld with its wide open spaces, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area.
En-route to the Kruger National Park, we stop for lunch (own expense).
You will go out on your first Kruger safari (a SANParks Sunset Drive) after settling into your accommodation.
A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal Kruger wildlife. The Kruger Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times.
Also, this is not a private Kruger safari so other guests may be joining you on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
A three-course dinner will be served al fresco at our camp in the evening (weather permitting).
Days 2 & 3: A Full Day in Kruger Park
Kruger Park safaris are all about early mornings, and getting out there and seeing the wildlife! The time you go on your Kruger safari varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times.
We have tea or coffee with snacks before departing on the game drive, which will take approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Your guide has an intimate knowledge of Kruger Park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
Upon returning to camp, brunch will be ready. You’ll then have time to enjoy a swim, visit Kruger Park’s shop, which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply take advantage of the Kruger National Park accommodation and relax in your chalet.
Be sure to bring your binoculars, Kruger Park is a bird watcher’s paradise!
After your leisure time, we set off on the afternoon Kruger wildlife safari. We conduct all our Kruger safaris in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point. We share African safari stories under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp. (Breakfast & Dinner included)
Day 4: Kruger Park to Gauteng
The final day of your Kruger Park safari will be your last chance to see the Big Five animals that have eluded you thus far.
After breakfast, we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night. (Breakfast included)
Morning Walk - A walk in the Kruger Park affords you the opportunity to experience the bush from a totally different perspective.
You really do get up close and personal with Africa's wild animals, insects, trees and birds. Qualified trail guides take you on a 3-hour walk where there is chance you could come across Africa's Big 5 on foot.
Please be advised however, the focus is not on Big 5 encounters, but rather smaller and often very interesting aspects of the bush that only a walk can offer. This activity is available at an additional ZAR 570.00 per person and needs to be pre-booked with your consultant when you confirm your safari with us.
This activity is dependent on availability.
Panorama Route - Our full day Panorama Route tour covers the best sights of this famous South African sightseeing route.
We will include the Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and the glass elevator near the town of Graskop.
This tour is available at an additional cost of ZAR 795.00 per person and needs to be pre-booked with your consultant when you confirm your safari with us.
If you choose to do the Panorama Route, you forfeit your morning and afternoon drive in the Kruger Park as there is not enough time to include both activities. You cannot book a Panorama Route tour whilst on safari.
(Kindly note that this excursion is not available on the first or last day of your safari due to time constraints). All entry fees and the glass elevator are included in the price. Lunch is excluded.
Please note that optional extras that are pre-booked are non-refundable in the event that you decide to no longer participate in the activity.
On our Kruger Classic Safaris, we make use of facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park and do not stay outside Kruger, unless forced to do so because of availability.
It is important to note that this is not a private safari and there will probably be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.
Please note that Sunset Drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by SANParks, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SANParks’ open safari vehicles.
Although we welcome children on our Kruger Park safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. This will entirely be at the guide’s discretion and is done to ensure a pleasurable Kruger safari for all our guests (including the parents). Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. We do not offer babysitting services and, as such, one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private safaris for families can be arranged at an extra charge.
Guests flying out of O.R. Tambo International Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19:00 (domestic) or 20:00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day, we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day may, depending on their flight details, not have enough time to do the Panorama Route. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance, at an extra charge.
Testimonials and Guest Reviews
I did the 2 night, 3 day camping safari. The guides, camp, food, tents, drive times all exceeded my expectations. The guides are really knowledgeable and friendly. The camp has a welcoming atmosphere, laid back flow with excellent chefs. There is a shop where you can get anything you need. I don't recommend adding on the night drive it is hard to see anything.
Our tour of Kruger, Swaziland and Hluhluwe was a wonderful holiday. The organisation was superb and the expertise of the guides was first class. It is hard to absorb everything we saw and learned, from baby elephants and lion cubs to wild dogs, over 100 bird species and many, many rhinoceros families. The guides, particularly Olivier, were patient, knowledgeable and clear
Just arrived from a trip of a lifetime with Kruger wildlife safaris. It has been a dream of mine to do a safari since my grandfather introduced me to the world of travel when I was young. From the moment your picked up in the private transfer van & taken to the camp that's located in southern Kruger national park I knew this was going to be a great experience.
