Your Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town

When you arrive at Cape Town International Airport, you’ll be met by one of our representatives, who will take you to The Portswood Hotel. Your accommodation is ideally-situated at the V&A Waterfront, which is a holiday destination on its own, with plenty of entertainment and a variety of restaurants and shops. Robben Island day tours as well as boat cruises also depart from here.

Day 2: Explore Cape Town City & Table Mountain

You’ll start your day with a tour to Table Mountain National Park, where you can find the landmark that has become an iconic symbol of Cape Town (weather permitting; cable car fee not included).

Declared as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Table Mountain offers guests panoramic views of the Mother City, the Atlantic Seaboard and Robben Island, found just off Table Bay harbour. After this, you’ll be transferred back towards the city centre for a tour of The Company Gardens.

This park and heritage site was initially established in the early 1650s by the European Settlers that arrived in the area. The gardens provided fresh fruit and vegetables to ships seeking replenishment when rounding the Cape on their journey to the East.

The Gardens now offer a natural retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. You’ll then stop at the South African Museum which houses a natural history collection as well as social history and art collections.

Your next stop is at the Castle of Good Hope, which was built between 1666 and 1679, and takes guests on journey through South Africa’s history and heritage. Your drive through the city also takes you past the Houses of Parliament, the Grand Parade and City Hall, which has great historical significance in that it’s where former president, Nelson Mandela first addressed South Africans after his release from prison in February 1990. You’ll then be dropped off at your accommodations.

With this day tour, it’s important to note that it departs from your hotel at 08:00 and ends at around 13:30. You also have the afternoon and evening at leisure to explore the city or the Waterfront. (Breakfast included)

Day 3: Travel Along Cape Peninsula

On this day, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay and Hout Bay - a quaint seaside village with magnificent mountain views. You’ll then continue on Chapmans Peak Drive - one of the world's most spectacular coastal drives - towards the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point.

Here, you’ll get to watch the dramatic clash of the seas from a viewpoint that can be accessed via a walk or using the Flying Dutchman Funicular (for your own expense). A lunch stop (own account) will be discussed and decided with your guide en-route to Simons Town.

The historic, Simons Town is a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large African penguin colony, located at Boulders Beach. Wooden walkways allow guests to view these penguins in their natural habitat. You’ll then continue towards the well-known Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

Officially founded in 1913 to preserve South Africa’s unique flora, the gardens - which are set against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain - encompass five of South Africa’s six different biomes and are renowned for their beauty and diversity. The tour ends with a drop off at your hotel.

The day tour also departs your accommodations at 08:00 but ends at around 17:00. You’ll have the evening at leisure. (Breakfast included)

Day 4: Cape Town to Kruger Park

On this day, you’ll fly, at some point in the morning, from Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and from there be transferred to Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park in the afternoon.

As you arrive at camp for your Kruger safari, you’ll be shown to your accommodations, before experiencing your first game drive -. This drive is unique in a number of ways! You’ll get to see the Kruger’s nocturnal wildlife and SANParks rangers are also allowed to return after the standard gate closing times.

With this afternoon/night safari, it’s important to remember that they take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with their rangers. It’s not an exclusive or private game drive so there will most likely be other guests on the vehicle. (Note that children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)

Dinner is an exciting and social affair and allows guests to chat and get to know one another, while sampling delicious, authentic cuisine. (Dinner included)

Day 5: A Full Day in Kruger Park

After waking up bright and early for your first game drive, you’ll grab a quick cup of tea of coffee and some snacks. Then we’ll go out on your morning Kruger Park safari, where your guide will hopefully help you spot the well-known Big 5 as well as many of South Africa’s other incredible wildlife and birdlife. Game drives are usually 3 to 4 hours.

Breakfast/brunch will be ready in our Dining Tent, when you return to camp and you’ll then have the early afternoon at leisure. During this time, you can catch up on sleep in your accommodation, visit the camp shop for food items and souvenirs, or cool off by the pool.

It’ll then be time for your afternoon game drive. As you may have noticed by now, our 4x4 open game drive vehicles are specially-adapted to give our guests the best possible view of wildlife sightings.

In the evening, you’ll enjoy a tasty dinner, prepared by our chefs with love and care. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 6: Kruger Park to Johannesburg

This day is your last one in the Kruger National Park, so we start our day with a morning game drive. After this, you’ll grab a tasty breakfast at our camp, before your transfer back to Johannesburg.

On this evening, you’ll stay in one of our lodges. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 7: Johannesburg to Victoria Falls

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls (please remember that you’ll have to make your own arrangements for this). Once you arrive at an airport near Victoria Falls, there will be a driver there to pick you up and take you to your hotel.

You’ll check into your hotel before going on a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the incredibly-beautiful Zambezi River. This cruise includes a set dinner menu and local drinks and usually takes approximately 3 hours. You’ll then enjoy an excellent night’s sleep at your hotel.

(Breakfast & dinner included. If you decide not to do the sunset cruise, dinner is at your own expense as it is part of the activity package)

Day 8: Explore Victoria Falls

You’ll have this day to explore and experience Victoria Falls - the fantastic thing about it is that there are various activities on offer there, including a Tour of the Falls, a helicopter flight (not included) over the falls as well as adrenalin activities. All can be pre-booked and paid for upon request.

Dinner tonight is at The Boma… so prepare for an evening of traditional entertainment and a taste of authentic African cuisine in the form of a buffet. (Breakfast & dinner included)

Day 9: Victoria Falls to Johannesburg

On this morning, you’ll have time for an optional activity, such as one of the activities that you have not taken part in as yet but would like to (not included), before your transfer to Victoria Falls airport for your flight to Johannesburg, which arrives in the mid-afternoon. You’ll stay in transit and depart shortly afterwards on your international flight home. (Breakfast included)
