Safari Overview ↓
>KwaZulu-Natal is one of the hidden gems of the South African wildlife safari experience. You’ll get to visit this beautiful province as well as the Kingdom of the Swazis and epic Kruger National Park on our 6 Day Kruger Park Combo Safari.
We visit not only some of the most magnificent places in the country, such as the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Kruger Park and the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, but we also get to see mountainous landscapes and incredible views as we travel. This safari is definitely every wildlife enthusiast’s dream!
What to Expect ↓
Day 1: Gauteng to Kruger National Park
Our exciting Kruger, Swaziland and KwaZulu-Natal safari gets under way in Johannesburg – we do pick-ups and depart from there between 06:00 and 07:00 on Day 1. Our first stop on this journey is the Kruger National Park. To get there, we’ll pass beautiful, open landscapes as well as green, tree-covered mountains. The drive takes several hours so we do make a stop at some point (you’ll be able to grab some lunch, at your own expense) and we arrive at the park in the afternoon.
Your first Kruger wildlife safari is that afternoon/early evening, after you’ve had a chance to settle into your room and freshen up. Here, you’ll get your first chance to try and spot some of the Kruger Park’s majestic wildlife, while getting to know your guides and fellow guests.
In the evening, dinner is enjoyed in our dining tent, where the chefs will explain what’s on the menu, while you enjoy your culinary experience. (Dinner Included)
Day 2: Kruger National Park to Swaziland
Our final morning in the Kruger National Park gets off to an early start as we embark on one last Kruger safari, eager to spot as much as we can before we leave. We’ll also enjoy breakfast as we make our way to the stunning and scenic Swaziland.
During the drive, you’ll get to see a mix of scenery, from breathtaking mountainous terrain to open fields, urban areas and more! We’ll stop for lunch en-route as well (own expense).
Your accommodation on this evening will be in one of Swaziland’s magnificent National Parks, offering you a unique and unforgettable lodging experience. Dinner gives you a chance to sample some delicious cuisine, ask your guide questions and chat to your fellow guests about your favourite aspects of the trip so far. (Breakfast & Dinner Included)
Day 3: Swaziland to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve
You’ll get to rest a little longer on this day, before enjoying a tasty breakfast. Then we’ll leave this culturally-rich destination for South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province. Passing open bush areas and aesthetically-pleasing hills and fields, our next stop is Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve’s Hilltop Camp.
It’ll soon be time to keep those eyes peeled and have your camera and binoculars ready as you search for all manner of wildlife on an afternoon safari. Following this, dinner will be served under the (hopefully) clear and starry African sky.
Day 4: A Day in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve
This is the day where you’ll be able to make the most of your time in the reserve, by embarking on wildlife safaris in search of the famous Big 5 as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo, cheetah, kudu and a variety of birdlife, to name a few.
You’ll also get to join a Sunset Drive (after dinner), which will be conducted by a KwaZulu-Natal Parks guide. These drives usually take place in an open 4×4 vehicle and offers you a chance to see wildlife that mostly or only come out towards the end of the day. (Breakfast & Dinner Included)
Day 5: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve to Dolphin Coast
On this day, there will be a morning safari, conducted by our guide and in a closed vehicle. Following this, we make our way to a place of miracle and wonder – the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Made up of lake systems and ecosystems, and home to a variety of bird species, it’s here that we’ll get to discover one of South Africa’s most beautiful and unique Heritage Sites.
Adventure awaits with a two-hour Hippo and Crocodile Boat Cruise, which takes place along the estuary, in St Lucia. Hippos and crocs can be found around every turn and the cruise is a great way to get close to them, as well as to get to know the birds and wildlife that make the estuary their home. Be sure to bring your cameras along for this one.
We’ll grab some lunch in town (own expense) and continue along the breathtakingly-beautiful and blue coastline, towards the Dolphin Coast. And to end off the day – a delicious and authentic dinner of Indian-style curry, delivered to you, and a great night’s sleep in a comfy room, complete with an en suite bathroom. (Breakfast & Dinner Included)
Day 6: Dolphin Coast to Durban
Our day begins with a wholesome breakfast and perhaps a swim in the ocean or a walk along the shore. We’ll then make our way past evergreen, open landscapes towards King Shaka International Airport. Lunch, which we’ll stop for at some point along the drive, will be for your own expense. We should arrive at the airport between 12:00 and 14:00. (Breakfast Included)
If you’d like to extend your visit to South Africa and explore more of what this amazing country has to offer, why not ask one of our consultants about adding on a safari, like perhaps our Addo to Cape Safari?

Important Notes ↓
It is important to note that this is not a private wildlife safari and there will probably be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.
Please note that Sunset Drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by KwaZulu-Natal Parks, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 3 years of age are not allowed on these open game drive vehicles.
Guests flying out of King Shaka International Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 17:00 in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Durban if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Durban on the last day we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected.
All passport and visa requirements are the guests’ responsibility. Should your passport and visas not be in order, we will assist with arrangements in any way possible to allow you to join us again on our return to South Africa, but any such arrangements will be for your own account.
