Your Itinerary

Day 1: Gauteng to Kruger Park

You’ll catch your flight from O.R. Tambo International Airport to an airport close to the Kruger National Park. From there, we’ll collect and transfer you to our camp.

After settling into your accommodations, you’ll go on your first Kruger wildlife safari –. It affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals, and better still, the Kruger National Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Remember, these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with one of their rangers. This is not a private Kruger safari so there may be other guests on the drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.) Dinner is served at our camp in the evening. (Dinner included)

Day 2: A Full Day in the Kruger National Park

We rise early and depart on our morning Kruger safari in the hopes of seeing some of the animals before they set off on their routine. This is also seen as the most active time of the day for predators, both big and small. With the African sun climbing higher above the savannah, we’ll get to experience all that Kruger Park has to offer, including the well-known Big 5 as well as the incredible wealth of flora, birds and smaller mammals that call the Kruger National Park home.

After the drive, which should take approximately 3 to 4 hours, brunch will be ready at our camp. You’ll then have time to visit Kruger Park’s shop, which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp or relax in your chalet. Remember to bring your binoculars as Kruger Park is also a bird watcher’s paradise!

After your leisure time, we set off on your afternoon Kruger safari. To allow our guests the best possible vantage point, we conduct all our Kruger safaris in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles. We then share stories after an appetising dinner served at our camp. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 3: Kruger Park to Private Game Reserve

Following an early wake-up call, you’ll receive a packed breakfast before we head to a Private Game Reserve. Arriving in time for the afternoon game drive, you’ll get some time to freshen up before heading out to look for African wildlife in one of the lodge’s open safari vehicles. This drive generally takes about 4 hours and tends to extend into the early evening. The Private Reserves are particularly famous for their ‘up-close and personal’ sightings of predators and, while we cannot guarantee these sightings, your chances of seeing the magnificent Big 5 and more are very good!

Dinner is served under the stars (weather permitting) and the day ends with discussions around an open fire about what you saw during the day and plans for the next day. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 4: A Full Day in the Private Game Reserve

Private Lodges offer two game drives per day, during which your experienced game ranger and expert local Shangaan tracker will share their extensive knowledge and love for African wildlife with you. Thanks to the carefully planned and managed habituation process, animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the safari vehicles in close proximity, without feeling threatened. This allows you to get really close to them and forms part of the appeal of Private Game Reserves!

After breakfast, guests are welcome to join the morning walk. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. Lunch is served around 14:00.

Mealtimes are a social affair, with dinner served under the stars (weather permitting) and only the freshest produce is used. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 5: Private Game Reserve to Gauteng

An early wake-up call and the scent of freshly-brewed coffee signals the start of your last safari and one more opportunity to experience the magic that only the African bush can offer!

Upon your return, breakfast is served. You will then travel from the Private Reserve to an airport near the Kruger National Park, from where you will then fly to O.R. Tambo International Airport. (Breakfast included)

Notes

On this Fly-in Safari, we make use of facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park and do not stay outside Kruger, unless forced to do so because of availability.

It is important to note that this is not a private Kruger safari and there will probably be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.

Please note that Sunset Drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on open safari vehicles.

Although we welcome children on our Kruger wildlife safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. This will entirely be at the guide’s discretion and is done to ensure a pleasurable Kruger safari for all our guests (including the parents). Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. We do not offer babysitting services and, as such, one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private safaris for families can be arranged at an extra charge.
