Your Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

We leave on your Kruger Park safari from Johannesburg in the early morning. Our consultants can provide you with more information, should you need a transfer to our shuttle departure point. The route to your Kruger wildlife safari takes us through several areas and types of terrain, including through the Highveld with its wide open spaces and through the picturesque Lowveld area. On our way to the Kruger National Park, we stop for lunch (for your own expense).

When we get to the park, after taking a moment to relax in your accommodation, you will go on your first Kruger safari – one that affords you the opportunity to see the animals that are most active at night.

After marvelling at Africa's incredible wildlife, we'll return to our camp, where dinner will be served in our Dining Tent.

Day 2: A Full Day in the Kruger National Park

Safaris to Kruger Park are all about early mornings, and getting out there and trying to spot the Big Five as well as many other animals that call the park home! The time you go on your Kruger safari varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. Before departing on our game drive, we have a cup (or two!) of tea or coffee with snacks. Then, off we go! Your guided game drive will take approximately 3 to 4 hours and your guide, who is knowledgeable when it comes to the flora and fauna in Kruger Park, will do his or her best to help you discover those brilliant sightings!

Brunch will be ready when we get back to our camp. After this, there will be time to relax and really take in your Kruger National Park safari experience thus far. You could perhaps enjoy a swim, visit the shop at the camp, which includes African curios, t-shirts, hats and food items and drinks, or simply relax in your accommodations. Remember to bring your binoculars as well - Kruger Park has many beautiful and colourful birds that you may see around the camp!

After your leisure time, it'll be time for your afternoon Kruger safari. We conduct all our game drives in 4×4 open safari vehicles to allow our guests the best possible game viewing experience. In the evening, we share our sightings of the day with fellow guests, after enjoying an appetising dinner at our camp. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 3: Kruger Park to Private Lodge

After an early wake-up, we’ll head to one of the world-renowned Private Game Reserves adjacent to the Kruger National Park in our closed, air-conditioned vehicle. You’ll receive a packed breakfast before you go.

We arrive in time for your afternoon Greater Kruger safari in one of the Private Lodge’s open game drive vehicles. Your exciting wildlife safari generally takes about 4 hours and extends into the early evening. Private Reserves are particularly well-known for their close-up sightings of predators and, while we cannot guarantee these sightings, your chances of seeing these magnificent animals are very good!

Dinner is served under the stars (weather permitting) and the day ends with stories around the open fire and planning for the next day. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 4: Private Lodge to Gauteng

A strong cup of coffee starts your last day on your Greater Kruger safari and is your final opportunity to experience the magic that only the African bush can offer!

After your morning wildlife safari, breakfast is served. We then begin our journey back to Johannesburg and stop en-route for lunch (own expense). The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night. (Breakfast included)

Notes

It is important to note that this is not a private wildlife safari and there will probably be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.

The child policies vary from lodge to lodge. Some lodges do not accept children under 12 at all, while others gladly accept children but do not allow younger children on the open game drive vehicles for safety reasons. These lodges usually offer babysitting services at a nominal extra cost. Please be sure to enquire about this when checking for availability or before making your reservation.

Guests flying out of O.R. Tambo International Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19:00 (domestic) or 20:00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day, we will not be held responsible for reimbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance, at an extra fee.
