5 Day Kruger Park & Sabi Sand Combo Safari

5 Day Kruger Park & Sabi Sand Combo Safari

Experience the best of both on a 5 Day Kruger Park & Sabi Sand Safari with return flights from Johannesburg to Skukuza

Day 1: Gauteng – Kruger Park

You depart OR Tambo International Airport to Skukza Airport. Our guide will collect you at Skukuza Airport and transfer you to your Rest Camp.

After settling in to our accommodations, you go out on your first game drive which is a SAN PARKS sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a Park’s ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)

Dinner is a three course meal, served al fresco at camp. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.

Day 2: Full day in the Park

We rise early and depart on an early morning drive in the hope of finding some of the nocturnal and diurnal animals before they settle down for the day. This is also the most active time for most predators, both big and small. With the sun slowly climbing higher above the savannah, we experience all that the park has to offer, including the well marketed Big 5 and the incredible wealth of flora, birds and smaller mammals that make the Kruger Park unique.

On returning to Camp, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax. Be sure to bring along your binoculars!

After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.

We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.

(Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 3: Kruger Park – Private Game Reserve

After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & snacks. Our morning safari will take approximately 3 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

After breakfast at our camp, we transfer you to Skukuza Airport for your flight to the Private Game Reserve. You arrive at the Private Game Reserve in time for lunch and have some time to freshen up before departing on your afternoon game drive in one of the lodge’s open game drive vehicles. This drive generally takes about 4 hours and tends to extend into the early evening. The Private Reserves are particularly famous for its close sightings of predators. Although we cannot guarantee these sightings, your chances of seeing these magnificent animals are very good!

Dinner is served under the stars (weather permitting). The day ends with discussions around the open fire about what you saw today and the plans for tomorrow.

(Breakfast, Lunch & dinner included)

Day 4: Full day in Private Game Reserve

Private lodges offer two game drives per day, during which your experienced game ranger and expert local Shangaan tracker will share their extensive knowledge and love for the African bush with you. Due to a carefully planned and managed habituation process, animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the game drive vehicles in close proximity, without feeling threatened. This allows us to get really close to them and forms part of the appeal of the Private Game Reserves!

After breakfast guests are welcome to join the morning walk. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. Lunch is served around 14h00.

Meal times are a sociable affair, with dinner served under the stars (weather permitting). Only the freshest produce is used and this is served with the local wines which South Africa is famous for.

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)

Day 5: Private Game Reserve – Johannesburg

An early wake-up call and coffee signals the start of your last safari of this journey. One last opportunity to experience the magic that only the African Bush can offer!

Upon your return breakfast is served. After breakfast you will fly from the Private Reserve to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport from where you will connect with your flight to O.R Tambo International Airport.

Although we welcome children on our safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. We do not offer babysitting and as such one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private game drives for families can be arranged at an extra charge.
