Accommodation On This Kruger & Greater Kruger Safari
Vehicles Used On This Kruger & Greater Kruger Safari
Transfers from and to the airport, as well as to and from our National Parks is in a 12 seater bus and game drives take place in open safari vehicles to offer the best possible game viewing experience. Vehicles provide guests with the highest possible levels of safety and comfort.
Day 1: Gauteng to Kruger National Park
We leave on your Kruger Park safari from Johannesburg in the early morning to allow for various collection points. The route to your Kruger safari takes us through the Highveld with its wide open spaces, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. En-route to the Kruger National Park, we stop for lunch (own expense).
After settling into your accommodation, you will go on your first Kruger safari – a SANParks Sunset Drive. The Sunset Drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal African wildlife. The Kruger Park’s rangers are also allowed to return after the normal gate closing times and because this is not a private Kruger wildlife safari, other guests may be joining you on the drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner will be served al fresco at our camp – wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional/alternative drinks which can be purchased at Kruger Park’s shop.
Day 2: Kruger Park to Private Lodge
After an early wake-up call, we’ll head to one of the world-renowned Private Game Reserves adjacent to the Kruger National Park in our closed, air-conditioned vehicle. You’ll receive a packed breakfast before you go.
We arrive in time for your afternoon Greater Kruger safari in one of the Private Lodge’s open game drive vehicles. Your exciting wildlife safari generally takes about 4 hours and extends into the early evening. Private Reserves are particularly famous for their close-up sightings of predators and while we cannot guarantee these sightings, your chances of seeing these magnificent animals are very good!
Dinner is served under the stars (weather permitting) and the day ends with stories around the open fire and planning for the next day.
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)
Day 3: A Full Day in a Private Reserve
Private Lodges offer two wildlife safaris per day, during which your experienced game ranger and expert tracker will share their extensive knowledge and love for African wildlife with you. Thanks to the carefully planned and managed habituation process, animals and birds in the reserve have become used to having the safari vehicles in close proximity, without feeling threatened. This allows you to get really close to them and forms part of the appeal of the Private Game Reserves and Greater Kruger wildlife safaris!
After breakfast, guests are welcome to join the morning walk. The rest of the day is spent at leisure, relaxing in your room or at the pool. Lunch is served around 14:00.
Mealtimes are a social affair, with dinner served under the stars (weather permitting). Only the freshest produce is used and is served with the local wines that South Africa is famous for.
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)
Day 4: Private Lodge to Gauteng
An early wake-up and a strong cup of coffee starts your last day on your Greater Kruger safari and is your final opportunity to experience the magic that only the African bush can offer!
After your morning wildlife safari, breakfast is served. We then begin our journey back to Johannesburg and stop en-route for lunch (own expense). The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.
