3 Day Kruger Park Classic Safari
Outlook Safaris is your Kruger National Park travel guide. Be amazed by the big five on three open vehicle game drives and a SANParks sunset drive, which will also give you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals. There are, however, never any guarantees and the more time you spend on an African Wildlife Safari, the better!
On one of the mornings, you have the option of visiting select attractions along the Panorama Route instead of joining the morning game drive (not applicable to the 2 Day Safari). We visit Lisbon Falls, Three Rondavels in the Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window, which provides some of the most magnificent scenery in the country!
Delicious breakfasts and three-course dinners, served al fresco under the stars (weather permitting), give you ample time to get to know your fellow travelers and exchange pictures. At night, we share a bottle of wine around the camp fire and listen to the sounds of the bush around us.

Day 1: Gauteng to Kruger National Park
We leave on your Kruger Park Safari from Johannesburg in the early morning to allow for various collection points. The route to your African Safari takes us through the Highveld with its wide open spaces, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. En-route to the Kruger National Park and Skukuza Camp, we stop for lunch (own expense).
You will go out on your first game drive (SANParks Sunset Drive) after settling into your accommodation. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal African Wildlife. The Kruger Park’s rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that this is not a private game drive and that other guests may be joining you on this drive.
(Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
A three-course dinner is included and will be served al fresco at our private camp within Skukuza. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional/alternative drinks which can be purchased at the Kruger Park shop.
Day 2: Full day in the Kruger National Park
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! The time you go on your game drive varies according to the seasons and camp gate opening times. We have tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the game drive, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!
On your return to Skukuza, brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, visit the park shop, which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Be sure to bring your binoculars, Skukuza Rest Camp is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta, we set off on the afternoon Kruger Park game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share African safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
(Breakfast & Dinner included.)
Day 3: Kruger Park to Gauteng
The final day of your Kruger Park Safari will be your last chance to see the Big Five animals that have eluded you thus far. After breakfast, we return to Johannesburg. The drive back takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night.
Panorama Route (Optional Excursion)
We offer an optional excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route in all our Kruger Safaris that are three days or longer.
